Info on our annual auction and yard sale. Please check back often for updates.
Our annual auction and yard sale is held on the second full weekend of August every year on the grounds of our main fire station and inside the old Orr's Island Schoolhouse on Harpswell Islands Road, Route 24, on Orr's Island in Harpswell (get directions in new window).
A giant yard sale of thousands of donated items is held indoors and out on both days.
A silent auction of goods, services and experiences donated by area businesses is open on both days until noon on Sunday.
The live auction begins at 10 a.m. Sunday, with preview starting at 9 a.m.
Cooked-to-order Breakfast, lunch, snacks and desserts are offered for sale on both days.
Please check back here throughout the year for more info on this special event, including some of the items up for sale as they become available. Please contact us any time for more info.
Want to unload some items, get a tax deduction and help keep our community safe? Please consider donating to our annual auction and yard sale.
We are looking for wooden furniture, antiques, artwork, nautical items, historical artifacts, household items, tools, unique kitsch, and more, including cars, trucks, trailers and boats.
However, we have learned over the years that certain items are difficult to sell and present us with disposal problems.
While we sincerely appreciate your offers, we cannot accept the following, regardless of condition:
If you are interested in donating items, please email or call us at 207-833-5405 and leave a message. We can arrange a time for you to deliver the items to us, or we can come and get them from you.
Please do not ever leave anything at our fire stations unattended.
Come give back to the community, have a great time and get to know many of your wonderful neighbors by volunteering to help at our annual auction and yard sale.
The massive community event requires dozens of volunteers to help with everything, including collecting and sorting donations, setting up, selling at the yard sale, recording bids, moving items, serving food, traffic and parking control, cleanup, and more. There are roles for everyone, before, during and after the big weekend.
Volunteers get early access to the sale, a free T-shirt, free food and the appreciation and admiration of everyone at OBIFD and throughout the community.
If you're interested in being part of the fun, please contact us through this site or call 207-833-5405 and leave us a message.
